Help take ExPriori from Beta candidate to NHS deployment
ExPriori is an independent, not-for-profit project in the public interest, and it has reached the point where more hands and more scrutiny would move it faster than more code from one team. This page keeps a register of people who might want to contribute. It commits neither side to anything yet.
Who we would like to hear from
Rust engineers
Systems programmers comfortable with async networking, careful error handling and tests before code. Familiarity with cryptographic engineering is welcome but not required.
Cryptographers
Multi-party computation, post-quantum schemes, known-answer testing, protocol analysis. The project has scaffolds that need replacing with reviewed implementations.
Security testers
People who want to attack a threat-modelled system under written rules of engagement and catalogue what they find, reproducibly.
Information governance and clinical safety
Data protection officers, Caldicott Guardians, clinical safety officers and DSPT practitioners who will read the DPIA and the safety case critically.
Technical writers and reviewers
The project's documentation is extensive; it needs readers who will tell us where it is wrong or unclear.
NHS digital leaders
Trusts, integrated care boards and research bodies able to host a sandbox trial on synthetic data.
What to expect
- The repository is private during Beta. Contributors are given access after a short conversation and a signed contributor agreement, so that the perpetual free licence to the NHS stays clean and every contribution can be included in it.
- Contributions are unpaid unless and until the project is funded. We cannot promise a paid role and will not imply one.
- Security work on ExPriori runs under written rules of engagement. Nobody tests anything until they have read and signed them.
- Your expression of interest and any CV you attach are held for twelve months, then deleted, unless you ask sooner. They are never shared with a third party.
